Located in Giza, in a community where child labor is prevalent, the Center addresses three critical challenges facing child laborers: ignorance, poverty, and lack of basic life skills. While some of the Center’s children have managed to stay in school while working, others are dropouts. The children are educated about their rights and exposed to alternative work environments through field trips. Emphasis is placed on literacy training, as well as providing the children with recreational and cultural activities. Center staff works with the children – and their families – to get them into and keep them in school.
